What this form means

A private enterprise operates on the private property of one or more citizens, foreign nationals or stateless persons, or of a single legal entity.

It is an older form, registered in large numbers through the 1990s and 2000s. Few new ones are created — ТОВ is the usual choice now — but hundreds of thousands already registered continue to trade.

How far liability extends depends on the individual enterprise's charter, which is why the form's name alone does not tell you whether the owner is personally liable.
