Ultimate beneficial owner
The natural person who actually controls a company, whoever the shares are registered to.
Legal entities must file information on their ultimate beneficial owners, and the register publishes the name, citizenship, percentage held and type of influence — direct or indirect decisive influence.
The point of the institution is to show the human being at the end of a chain of companies. A ТОВ's founder may be a Cypriot holding, but the beneficial owner is the individual behind it.
The register also publishes the stated reason where a company declares it has no beneficial owner. That is a fact in its own right, not an empty field.
